I've played basketball ever since I could imagine and have always had it in my life; it truly has become a part of me. Sad it say, I experienced not being able to play anymore. I lost the most important thing in my life in the most important year of high school, Senior year. Ever since I accomplished making Varsity my Senior Year as a Freshman, I've always been so anxious to make it to my senior year and walk on the court on senior night with everyone cheering me on. I imagined all my friends and fanily coming to support me and some of my last games in high school. Senior year was the time where I would've played harder than ever, practiced more than ever, and was determined to get scouted. I've always had problems outside off of the court with school which constantly conflicted with basketball and to truly be the leader i should've been on the court. I never knew that my problems off the court would honestly get so bad that I wasn't even able to be on the court anymore. Before I knew it, my actions finally took a toll over my life and took away my world.

More than Just a Game.
Anyone can play basketball.I have a passion for basketball that goes above and beyond a typical hooper. As generations have passed, I realized how many people just play because it's a popular sport or to impress other people. I play for myself and because at the end of the day basketball keeps me sane. I believe that people should play not because of others or because other people tell them to, but because they want to play basketball for themselves and to keep them happy and positive. Basketball provides a way for me to get away from problems, teaches me life lessons, helps me build bonds that will never be broken between teammates and coaches, and so much more. It is a lifestyle for me and I wouldn't know what I would do without it.
Accoring to Families.com, "Sports help kids develop discipline. They learn to set goals and then work to achieve those goals. They learn that by working hard they can accomplish the things that they want to in their lives." If taken seriously, basketball can become more of a sport and instead a life changing thing. It can teach you how to be a leader, how to work with others to become successful, apply skills taught to you, work hard constantly and many more life lessons that a person couldn't even imagine. It can also show you how to better yourself to be a positive impact in the world, as it did for me when I wasn't able to play anymore. Now, without the game I realized how much I took playing basketball and all of the postive things it truly did for me for granted.
